Battle with the Canaanites

21 The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming by the way of Atharim. He fought against Israel, and took some of them against their will. ² So Israel made a promise to the Lord, and said, “If You will give this people into my hand, I will destroy every part of their cities.”
